Westlake High School wins State Championship
Dear Buck,
Thank you for the great job you do working with the players on our team with their golf game. You are a tremendous teacher and have helped numerous Westlake players with their games over the years. You deserve some of the credit for our success as you consistently teach kids fundamentally sound golf swings and help them to become better players.
Coach Grigg and I appreciate you and want you to have a photo of our 2014 State Champion Team. You've been a great friend to our golf team and we look forward to working with you for many years to come.

Buck has followed his passion & gained the reputation as a very knowledgeable & caring instructor. Much like my father, Harvey Penick, he believes his primary role, as a teacher is to guide his student’s learning. He is personable, has strong communication skills and his reputation will continue to grow and be recognized. I consider Buck Mayers to be a rising star among golf teachers. Tinsley Penick, son of Harvey Penick
“As a Life member of the PGA, Texas Golf Hall of Famer, PGA Teacher of the Year and teacher of the game for most of my 80 years, I’ve played, observed and worked with some of the best instructors in the business. Hogan, Nelson, Snead, Penick, Burke, and Cook just to name a few. Learning the game can be incredibly difficult and frustrating and teachers can make it even harder. Buck’s knowledge and experience is exhibited in simplistic, practical and easily understood words. His caring manner and philosophy that golf is a game to be played for fun is apparent from tour players to junior. His passion is unique and those he touches remember more than how to swing a club but that balance in life is more important”. Jackson Bradley, Texas Golf Hall of Fame
“When Buck came to our club, his organizational skills and energy made our club come alive. He has the ability to motivate people and keep their interest at a peek. When my husband, JC Snead was looking for instructional help and advice, I suggested he talk with Buck. I felt his eye for swing change and course management would be helpful. During their partnership, J.C. won his first Senior Tour event at The Dominion in San Antonio. Buck has been a very strong influence.” Susie Snead
“I strongly recommend Buck as one of the Top 100 Golf Instructors in the country. I have received golf instruction from multiple Top 100 teachers, including Chuck Cook, Bill Moretti, Fred Griffin, and Phil Rogers. I would unequivocally say that I have received substantially more benefit from him than the Top 100 instructors with whom I have worked. Mr. Mayers has several qualities that make him an outstanding golf instructor. He was immediately able to determine the root cause of the problems with my golf swing. He is an excellent communicator and has found simple approaches for me to improve my game. I can’t recommend him highly enough”. Dr. Ed Lewis, M.D., Multiple Club Championships at various clubs, USGA Rules Official, Golf Digest National Course Panelist.
